General Information

The two terminal buildings (Gatwick North & Gatwick South) are connected by a monorail (the Transit). Easy vehicle access to both terminals is had by road from the M23. The mainline railway station is at the south terminal.

Gatwick Arrivals & Departures

By road these are well signposted with separate lanes for “arrivals” and “departures”, at both terminals. By coach or bus - The driver will visit both terminals, all you need to do is get off at the correct one. By rail, you will arrive at the south terminal. climb the steps to and turn right into the main railway concourse. If you require north terminal you will see the transit route to your right just before you enter the main airport concourse.

Meeting Arrivals

Collecting passengers - “Arrivals”:

For international flights it generally takes 40-50 minutes from touchdown to clearing the baggage/customs area. Domestic flights are usually a little quicker. Gatwick North has two “arrivals” areas. One for Domestic flights and one for International. Gatwick South only has one “arrivals” area. Make sure you are waiting in the correct place.

Departing from Gatwick

If your friend wants to wave good-bye or help you with your luggage then they must park in the short term parking area. There is no excuse!

By road the departure route is clearly marked both overhead and on the road surface. Put simply, go up the ramp, at both terminals.

By coach or bus, the driver will visit both terminals, all you need to do is get off at the correct one.

By rail, you will arrive at the south terminal. Climb the steps to and turn right into the main railway concourse. If you require north terminal you will see the transit route to your right just before you enter the main airport concourse.

Please remember - if you are making an international departure you are expected to “check in” at least two hours before departure.
